In addition, the insurance broker should determine the best and most favorable offer for the customer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">What many customers are not aware of is that the insurance broker is subject to <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>strict consultation and documentation obligations<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">. If the broker violates these and the policyholder suffers a <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>disadvantage in the event of a claim<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">, the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>insurance broker&#8217;s liability<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> must always be examined. The insurance broker&#8217;s liability may arise <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>not only in the run-up to the conclusion of the contract<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">, for example when determining what is to be insured and in what amount, but also <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>during the ongoing insurance contract<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">. For example, according to the German Federal Supreme Court, a so-called &#8220;<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>increase in risk<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">&#8221; (\u201cGefahrerh\u00f6hung\u201d) exists if a building is scaffolded due to renovation measures. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>If the insurance broker becomes aware<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> of this, it is his <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>responsibility to notify the insurer<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">.
